This life as a gamer who’s usually behind the screen, stepping away from my setup for an Aruba vacation with my husband and friends in 2026 isn’t something I do often but it turned into a much needed reset. This Aruba vacation wasn’t about quitting gaming or streaming. It was about stepping away from the routine, dealing with not feeling 100%, and spending real time with people outside of the usual online world.
The Trip That Actually Made It Out of the Group Chat
You know the plans. Sitting around at a bbq or party. And discussing how we should all go away.
Then the “we should all go away together” messages that sit in a group chat for months… and never happen.
This one did.
Life of a Gamer Aruba Vacation: No Plans, No Pressure, Just Vibes.
Me, my husband, and friends actually made it to Aruba and followed through and honestly, that alone made the trip worth it.
Not Feeling Great… Before, During, and After
Let’s not pretend everything was perfect.
My stomach was off before I even left. It stayed annoying during the trip. And yeah… it followed me home too. We are dealing with it and seeing a Doctor.
Not exactly ideal for a vacation.
It’s the kind of thing that sits in the background the whole time affecting your energy, what you feel like doing, even how long you want to be out.
But it didn’t ruin the trip.
It just changed how I experienced it.
Slower Pace, Better Trip
Because I wasn’t feeling 100%, we didn’t try to pack the trip with plans—and honestly, we didn’t want to anyway.
This Aruba trip was about relaxing.
We didn’t run around doing excursions. We didn’t feel the need to “do everything.”
We just chilled.
Went at our own pace.Sat, talked, enjoyed the moment without rushing to the next thing.
And that ended up being exactly what the trip needed to be.
No plans.
No pressure.
No overthinking.
Just time with people I enjoy being around.
What a Real Vacation Looks Like
This wasn’t a highlight reel trip.
It was real life just in a better location.
Long dinners that turned into conversations. Laughing over random things that make no sense later. Sitting by the pool with no actual plan.
That’s the kind of stuff that sticks with you.
Not the perfectly plan18ned moments.
Stepping Away Without Losing Yourself
Let’s be clear this wasn’t me needing a break from gaming.
I didn’t suddenly decide to disconnect from everything.
If anything, this trip reminded me how much I enjoy it.
But stepping away from:
going live
thinking about content
constantly being “on”
That part? Needed.
Even not feeling my best physically, mentally it still gave me a reset.
Coming Home Hits Different
As nice as Aruba was…
Coming home felt even better.
Back to my kids.
Back to Riley.
Back to my space.
Back to gaming.
That comfort hits different when you’ve been away from your routine.
Not a Goodbye, Just a Reset
This wasn’t stepping away from gaming permanently.
It was just a pause.
A reset.
A reminder that you can step away from something you enjoy…and come back to it even better.
If You’re Planning a Trip

No random recommendations. Just what worked for me.

I missed you!!! But so glad you got to take a break away and spend time with family and friends. Can't wait to catch the next live stream and see all your content. My FPY has been boring without some COD toxicity lol
