First Impressions of Loftia

Updated: May 6

Character with dog overlooks vibrant village. Text: Loftia Playtest Review, Cozy MMO Vibes, A Peaceful MMO. Relaxed and inviting scene.

I spotted Lofita game on my fyp on Tiktok being streamed and knew I needed it asap! First impressions of Lofita, while playing is exactly what I knew I was going to love playing it. Because I loved watching others play it.

So I did what every desperate cozy gamer does and parked myself in the Discord and waited for someone to gift a code. Late Saturday night on the 25th, it finally happened. Instant download. Instant launch. Sleep? Next day was a Sunday, which is a day of rest. I'll rest on Sunday.

By the time the playtest ended, I had already put over 20 hours into it. And honestly? I didn’t want to stop. I did, because there was no more test quests. If you know me, I thrive on quests in game.

One of the biggest things that stood out to me was the community vibe. The chat wasn’t toxic the way a lot of other online games can be. And you could open it if you choose too. Not forced chat. Sure, there were a few harmless bonks on the head by other players , but nothing that made the experience miserable. Actually I think it is part of a quest. If I remember correctly.

It actually felt relaxed, which is sometimes unheard of in games.

You could just exist in the world without feeling like you were walking into a digital war zone every five minutes.

The gameplay loop also hit a really good balance for me. I loved unlocking different areas and constantly finding something new to do.

I’ve played plenty of games where quests feel restricted or time gated, and I’ve never liked that system. If I get stuck on one quest, I want the option to move onto another. I like feeling like there’s always progress happening somewhere. If I want to wilt in front of my screen until I finish the game, let me.

That’s what Loftia did right for me.

During the playtest, it never felt like the game was constantly holding me back.

Let me continue the quests, keep exploring. Made my brain think this was really my life.

That’s the energy this game gave me.

Even when certain content was naturally limited because it was still a test build, I never fully ran out of things to do. Between exploring, gathering materials, decorating, crafting, leveling skills, managing energy, collecting rainwater, and getting distracted every ten seconds by something shiny, the game kept pulling me back in.

And honestly? I loved that.

I spent hours playing without hitting that usual burnout wall. No frustration. No feeling forced into logging off. Just a relaxing gameplay that I look for when gaming at night during my cozy time. Its like my visual cup of tea.

The world itself is colorful without being harsh on your vision. If you know, you know what I'm talking about. The solar punk style gives it personality without making everything feel overwhelming. It feels cozy without becoming boring.

For people who want cozy but fun without the stress, that’s going to be one of its biggest selling points.

Obviously, it’s still a playtest, so there were bugs and smaller issues here and there, but nothing that ruined the overall experience for me. When running it was like I was doing the running man and was in the same place. Or I couldn't buy one vegetable because it was not registering I had enough diamonds. ( I hope they were diamonds that's what they look like to me.)

If you like cozy games but still want enough content to stay busy, Loftia is absolutely worth keeping an eye on.

Definitely add it to your Steam wishlist.

And if you’re trying to get into playtests, join their Discord or hang around livestreams where creators are giving away codes. That’s how I finally got mine. Believe playtest ends May 6. If you played I would love to know your first impressions of Loftia. Drop it in the comments.

Now excuse me while I impatiently wait for release day.
