Let me be very clear, these aren’t my gaming accessories. I bought them. I paid for them. Okay ~you caught me~ the husband paid for them. We’re a package deal.
But I do not use them. Because plot twist I'm not the only gamer in this house.
Two out of my three kids are little gaming warriors, and I swear every time I blink, someone’s asking for something new for their setup. It’s like running Warzone and constantly getting hit with,
“Drop money for a loadie!” ⬅️You know, who you are!
BFFR!
I say this in game and IRL.
Stop asking for my money.
I drop a little bit like it is allowance.
The Great Desk Reset (Thanks, Fire)
Unfortunately, we had a small bathroom fire. No major injuries (thankfully), but the smoke damage wrecked some of the furniture, including the kids’ desks. So here we are, rebuilding gaming setups like it’s Season 1 of a Battle Pass.
For the Daughter Who Games and Glams
My daughter is a casual gamer, but she’s serious about needing her space. She wanted something that worked as both a battle station and a beauty station for beating her face to the gods.
We landed on:
Room for her TV, PlayStation 5, makeup, mirror, and still space to elbow anyone who tries to steal her snacks. (Mini M&Ms are her love language.)
🎧 Headset: Logitech G Astro A10
Budget friendly, solid sound, and comfy for long gaming sessions. I’m loyal to my Astros, so this felt like the best choice for her without blowing the budget.
For the Son Who Games Like He’s in a Tournament (24/7)
Unlike his momma (controller gang forever), my son is mouse and keyboard all the way. He’s fast. He’s loud. And he’s tough on his gear. So this is what I got for him.
⌨️ Keyboard: SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL HyperMagnetic
Built for fast hands and frequent yelling. Durable, responsive, and—dare I say—tempting enough to make me consider switching... almost.
🖥️ Desk (Home): Tribesigns 75" Gaming Desk with Monitor Shelf
He’s got a dual-monitor setup and enough water bottles to qualify as a recycling center. This desk holds it all. (Yes, I clean his room. Yes, he’s technically an adult. Yes, I probably shouldn’t.)
🏠 Desk (College): Homieasy Small Gaming Desk with Power Outlets, Pegboard & LED Light
He’s a few hours away in college, so we needed something compact. This desk is small space friendly and has built in power outlets. He can plug in and grind while getting that education to take care of me in years to come.
🪑 Bonus: Floor Protection for When You Rage Scoot
To protect the hardwood floors from getting wrecked every time one of us pushes away from the desk after getting offed in game, I got the
It lives under my chair and the kids’ chairs, because dramatic exits are a family tradition around here.
Final Thoughts
(a.k.a. Someone Please Send Help, or Gift Cards)
At this point, I’m basically running a side hustle as:
part-time IT support
accidental interior designer
accountant for surprise spending
and full-time gaming gear supplier
These setups weren’t for me, but I researched, bought, and tested every one for this crew of mine. If you're a parent gamer, or just a gamer with expensive taste and dependent housemates. These picks will save your wallet and your sanity.
