My Not-Fancy, Kinda Dated, Totally Loved Gaming Setup

My setup won’t win any design awards, but it gets the job done (with snacks).

It’s that time again! Time to overshare what’s on (and under) my desk like I’m being mansplained how to build a PC step-by-step, even though I literally just said I’ve done it myself. My most loved gaming setup!

Now listen, my setup is not Pinterest pretty, but it works and doesn’t judge my snack habits. It’s not even trendy. But guess what? Neither am I. I’m slightly expired, mildly off the hinges, and highly caffeinated. I like what works. I’m a creature of habit, especially if it doesn’t trigger a “what did you spend THIS time?!” from the husband.

🪑 My Office Chair is Great, But My Skeleton Isn’t

I’ve got a solid chair which is my main aspect of my gaming setup. It's comfy, breathable, blah blah... but after 6 hours of gaming cozy farming in DDLV or screaming “THERE IS A HACKER IN MY LOBBY,” my back sounds like a haunted house soundtrack. So I went to Amazon, in search of a cushion that didn’t look like a sad grandma accessory.

🍿 My “Snack Area” (Also Known As My Desk)

I'm always honest (even if it’s not always approved). So here it is, my “streaming setup” is more like a snack shrine with a keyboard shoved in. I needed more room for snacks, drinks, and the occasional adult beverage.

I found a dual monitor riser that clamps onto the desk, lifts both screens, and gives me prime snack real estate. Bonus? I installed it myself. No meltdowns. No “I have to google this” from the peanut gallery in my head.

💻 My PC Tower Was Basically on Fire

Fun fact I didn’t even realize until my PC started having a full-on meltdown. Your CPU gets mad when it’s stuck on the floor, suffocating like it's being punished. Mine was basically screaming for help from the depths of hell. So, I grabbed a mobile CPU stand, it rolls (hello, easy cleaning), lifts my tower off the floor like the royalty she is, and now my pretty girl can breathe like she just just escaped a digital oven.

This right here is the star of the setup. The LG UltraGear 27" QHD Gaming Monitor changed my life, my eyesight, and probably my attitude. It has a refresh rate that cooks (my son uses this a lot), colors that pop, and a screen size perfect for these “been online since dial-up” eyes.

I LOVE HER. I would name her if that wasn’t weird.

Graphics so crisp you’ll feel like you're inside the game, until you realize you're still wearing pajama pants and haven’t moved in 8 hours.

TL;DR (Do Gen Z even know what that means?)

Is it fancy? Nope. Is it aesthetic? Not unless you count "chaotic gamer with snack priorities."Is it functional? 1000%.

These are the things I actually use, genuinely love, and totally recommend especially if you're more about comfort, budget-friendly hacks, and rage-snacking than having some Pinterest-perfect setup. (Although... I still want one of those too.)
