Hozy ! and wow… the name fits.
Home + Cozy = Hozy. A cozy game that actually feels like home.
I’ve been in a serious cozy gaming rut lately. I’ve been jumping around looking for that perfect cozy game.
So there I was, sitting at my desktop scrolling TikTok (hey, don’t judge me!). My FYP was FYP’ing, and I came across someone playtesting a new, up-and-coming game called Hozy. I loved it instantly. And you know how TikTok works, once you like something, suddenly everyone who touched it ends up on your FYP.
Pulled my blanket up tight and bounced over to Steam. Found it. Applied to be a playtester. Instant approval. I downloaded it and started my renovations.
I’ve played similar games before (as Steam so kindly reminded me with its passive aggressive “Similar to games you played:” note. Thanks, Steam, don’t mind if I do!).
But is it the same? Yes and no. It’s BETTER. I actually played twice in a row and didn’t even notice how late it was until bedtime was already past due. I felt lost in the game, the good kind of lost. Just me, my blanket, and Hozy.
Graphics & Performance
The graphics are gorgeous. It runs smooth, no weird movement. I like that I can play without feeling like I need to pop something for nausea.
Sound & Accessibility
One thing I always look for in cozy games is sound control, and Hozy nailed it. You can adjust volumes easily .Being able to change the volume between soft sounds and music feels relaxing, which is exactly what I want when I settle in. This is always important to me in a game.
Gameplay & Tutorials
Navigating was easy and the tutorials were short, clear, and not overwhelming. A natural flow, which is hard for a lot of games to get right.
Little Things (That Matter)
My only complaint (and it’s a small one) is that some of the smaller items weren’t instantly recognizable. One purple item I found looked like a glasses case, so that’s what my brain will forever call it. A small nitpick, not a dealbreaker.
Final Thoughts
Hozy is different, and I love it so much. It doesn’t have to scream “cozy” it just is.
It felt like curling up under a blanket after a long day, but in game form.
If you’ve been stuck in the same rut I have, waiting for something new that actually delivers, keep your eyes on this one. I’ve already got it on my Steam wishlist.
The developers did an excellent job, and I know overnight this game is going to take off.
For me, it was “here, take my money, let me live in this cozy world.”
